Exterior paint on the Gulf Coast has a hard life: months of humidity, afternoon storms, direct sun, and, closer to the water, salt in the air. A finish that lasts here is mostly the result of prep. We wash the house first to remove dirt, chalk, and mildew, scrape and sand every place the old paint has failed, prime bare wood, renew the caulk at trim and joints, and only then apply the finish coats.
We paint wood siding, fiber-cement, stucco, brick, and previously painted vinyl, plus the trim, fascia, soffits, shutters, porches, and doors that go with them. If we find soft or rotten wood while prepping, we show you rather than paint over it, and we'll tell you what it would take to fix.
The schedule follows the forecast. A coat that doesn't have time to cure before the rain is a coat that fails early, so we plan around the weather and tell you when we're waiting on it.

Questions about exterior painting
How long will an exterior paint job last here?
It depends on the surface, the exposure, and the prep. A well-prepped house with a quality coating typically goes many years before it needs attention, but sun- and salt-facing sides wear faster. We'll be honest about what to expect for your house during the walk-through.
What about mildew? It comes back every summer.
It's washed off and treated before painting, not painted over, and the finish coat is a coating with mildew resistance. That doesn't make a wall immune in this climate, but it keeps it clean far longer, and an occasional gentle wash keeps it that way.
Can you paint brick?
Yes, with the right masonry primer and a breathable coating. Painting brick is a long-term decision, since it's very hard to reverse, so we'll talk through it before you commit.
Will you paint in the summer?
Yes. Summer days are shorter painting days because of the heat and afternoon storms, and we plan the job around that rather than pushing a coat that won't cure.
